AICE Media Studies Filming Blog: Senior Patio

Image
Filming Blog: Senior Patio On Wednesday the 30th of September, my partner and I began filming. As the director I was in charge of getting the props, so I brought my Jan-sport backpack, and asked my fellow classmates with other Jan-sport backpacks to borrow them. We also had to ask our other classmates to be actors in our commercial. We were able to find three willing participants that would help us with our commercial. We did not need to change our clothes, because all of the actors were already wearing school clothes, such as; jeans, leggings, shorts, sweatshirts, and T-shirts. As the director, I told all of the actors where to stand and when to start moving. When we first began filming all of our actors were stiff and not completely sure what to. I thought it would be helpful for the actors to view our storyboard so that they could envision the scenes in their heads and then act them out with their bodies. This act was very beneficial in helping our team to understand our vision. I

Scene 1: The actor will start off coming into school beginning at the top of the stairs in front of the auditorium. A Jan-sport backpack will be laying on a bench right before the stairs. The actor will be running, grab the backpack off the bench and run down the stairs. This will go from an eye level to a low angle, the camera person will move backwards as the actor runs down the stairs. Then the actor will start walking and other friends with Jan-sport backpacks will gather around and walk with them. Scene 2: Another actor will be sitting on a bench on the senior patio. Papers and books will be on the ground and on the bench, the actor will be trying to zip up their non Jan-sport backpack. They will be having trouble and it won't work. This will be an eye level shot from the side. Scene 3: As the group of friends with Jansport backpacks are walking they notice the student with the non Jansport that is broken, there books and papers are falling out and they look sad.    Props: Since my group is creating a Jan-sport backpack commercial, our main prob will be the Jan-sport backpack. We will also use another brand backpack to compare the difference and prove that Jan-sport is better. In addition, other objects students generally bring to school such as a water bottle, notebooks, computer, pencil case, books, and a lunch box.  These props help create the image of Jan-sport's establishment and help advertise Jan-sport's products at the same time in our commercials. Costumes: Our commercial is taking place at school and the actors will be normal high school students so they will wear everyday school attire such as jeans, shorts, leggings, t-shirt, tank top, or a jacket with comfortable shoes like vans or converse. Schedule: 9/22/21 and 9/24/21- Our group researches conventions and codes of Jansport commercials and we will establish props, costumes, schedule, location list and backup plan.

My group is doing a Jan-sport commercial. In these types of commercials the audience will typically see students at school doing normal activities such as walking to class and talking to friends. The actors will wear active clothes or comfortable school appropriate clothes such as jeans, t-shirts, shorts, and shoes like vans or converse. This will present the setting as a regular day at school. Props include Jan-sport backpacks, water bottle, laptop, notebooks, and folders. Their appearance should be happy and cheerful, smiling and talking with friends at school, as well as running and jumping around showing the durability of the product. Score- upbeat, fast-paced music and sound effects to show the cheerful mood throughout the commercial, although music will come to a stop during the necessary scenes for added dramatic effect. Conventions and codes in Jan-sport include the classic Jan-sport logo followed by the iconic "We got your back" slogan. This slogan emphasizes the id

AICE Media Studies About My Group

For the first project in this class, I have chosen a good friend of mine to be my partner. My partner's name is Allison Nordyke and I chose her for a wide variety of reasons. First off, she is a reliable friend. Whether it is a ride to school or helping with my homework she is always there. I find that this quality is crucial when it comes to group projects. If you don't have a reliable team, you will likely end up doing all of the work yourself, feeling overwhelmed and stressed. Allison is also a good student who turns in her work on time if not early. This is good for our team because I tend to procrastinate, and she will likely keep me on my game. We also have known each other since 7th grade and have worked on many projects together, so I know what to expect. Allison and I tend to agree on things, and if not, we are both mature enough to come to a mutual agreement that benefits both of us. Allison may not be the most creative partner there is, but she is someone who can cle

Hi, my name is Sophia Pollock, and this is a little bit about me. I am the daughter of Jake and Melissa Pollock and I have 3 sisters. I am the third oldest which makes me a middle child. My dad grew up in a Jewish household, and my mom converted to Judaism when they got married. I myself, have been raised Jewish and have been bat mitzvahed. I have 6 dogs whom I love equally. I have always grown up around big dogs and can’t imagine my life without animals. I am 16 years old, and a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I have always been an honor roll student and plan to continue this streak until my very last day of school. My goals for after high school are to attend a good college, and to earn a degree in something I love. I have many academic interests, like reading and writing and hope to pursue a future that includes both. During my free time I like to go to the beach, go on the boat, listen to music, and watch movies, or hangout with my friends, family, and dogs. All of my exten
