Filming Blog: Our Last Day Of Filming

The third day of filming was the last day for my group and I to complete the music video. The last few scenes needed to be shot at night so we devised a plan to meet at sundown. Allison came and picked me up, then we drove to Darrow’s. We had planned on filming at Allison’s house again, but it seemed easier to just stay at Darrow’s. Before filming we had to go to publix to buy a prop. We picked out some flowers that Darrow would be giving Allison in the video. We began filming the first scene which is a close up of a phone with the text saying that Darrow’s character had arrived to pick up Allison’s character. This scene was easy for Ella and I to film because all she had to do was hold the phone while I filmed the closeup. The next scene was slightly more difficult. It was going to be Darrow’s character arriving at the door with the prop flowers, the group had a small disagreement about what angle would be best for this shot. Fortunately we quickly decided to film two different shots and then compare, this saved us from debating longer and wasting time. The group ended up agreeing with my idea of filming an over the shoulder shot! The next scene to film was the stargazing at the park. For this we had to drive to a nearby park and find an empty grassy patch. Allison brought along a blanket for the prop. I filmed Darrow opening the door for Allison and letting her out of the car. Ella and I also filmed the pair walking towards the grass to the stargazing spot. Darrow forgot to hold the blanket in this scene, so we had to film it again. These scenes were relatively easy to film because they are short and simple! Lastly Ella and I filmed the stargazing scene where Darrow and Allison are laying on the blanket looking up at the stars! Overall I had a great time filming and producing this music video! I learned a lot about how to work well with a group, and I have learned how to use different angles and shots to portray certain ideas!
