AICE Media Studies Planning

 Props: Since my group has decided to do a a country love song, our props will include a car, cowboy hat, phone, and flowers.

Costumes: In the music video 2 group members will be the main characters while the other 2 are filming. Our actors will be wearing country style clothing such as, jeans, flannels, cowboy hats, and boots. These clothes are typically seen as the country asethetic and will add to the country love story that is being depicted. The jeans will be navy blue and the flannels will be red and checkered. They will appear casually dressed and not too clean, we are going for an authentic cowboy and cowgirl look. 

Schedule:

On 11/17/21 my group and I will further our research on conventions of country music videos

On 11/19/21 the group will have a clear idea of what we want our music video to look like. We will begin making a list of the costumes and props and we will find where to buy or borrow these items. We will also create a location list and a backup plan. We will also create a storyboard for our music video. 

On 11/20/21 My group will being to film and record the shots we need to start our music video. We will continue shooting as much as possible and see how long it takes us to complete all of the scenes we need. 

11/29/21 My group will come together and we will edit our music video, adding in sound and transitions in order to make it more cohesive. 

Location List: The main location of music video will be a group member's house. We will film on the road and the park near her house. This will be a good place to film because the open road is similar to other country music videos. Also we will be able to get creative with the actors movements because there will be plenty of space. We will also need the road to in order to get a shot of our actors driving in the car. Our second location will be the park and this is where we will film more of the close-up scenes of the 2 actors. This will be a good place to film close-up scenes because it is less busy and will be easier to get a clear shot. 

Backup Plan: If the weather is not good we will likely have to reschedule for a sunnier day because the sun is a part of our setting, however if the weather does not seem to be clearing up anytime soon we will work through the rain and film under covered areas in the park.

Editing Blog: Editing The Music Video

 Today Allison and I edited together the music video! This was the final step to our music video process and marked an end to all of the work we had done. We used the app Imovie to put all of the scenes together, we did this in class and used Allison’s phone. We had previously recorded all of the clips on Allison’s phone so this was the most convenient option. I began adding the scenes to the app to have an outline of our video. Allison helped me crop the clips so that they would line up with the music perfectly. It was challenging making all the clips match up with the music perfectly and I did have some frustrations along the way. For some scenes I had trouble matching the lip syncing, but after a few tries I was able to make it look flawless! Creating a split screen for the phone call scene seemed impossible, but with some research and the help of my group mates I was able to create a split screen! Allison gave me many suggestions while editing and I greatly appreciated her help...

Introducing My Group Mates!

 My group is very similar to the group I had for my previous music video, although there are some changes. We decided to add a new member to the group from a different class period, her name is Jade. My group now consists of me my good friend Allison, Darrow, and Jade. Allison and I have been friends since middle school and have worked together on many projects and assignments. On our last project Allison was very helpful and took on a lot of the responsibility she picked upon Darrow a few times and allowed us to film at her house. Without her we who knows what we would've done. Allison also helped me a lot when it came to filming, she gave me many ideas without forcing them upon me. We are able to work well together because we have a good relationship. Darrow is another friend that I have known since middle school. Lets Get Filming!

 Today we got lots of filming done! Yesterday was not as accomplished as we spent a lot of time trying to figure out the right place to film. But today we were able to all meet at one place at the same time ready to film. All of the actors quickly got dressed and I went to set up props again. Darrow's parents were not home this day so I had to set up the props by my lonesome without his Moms help. Luckily everything still looked perfect! Once everyone was dressed we had to continue with the scenes. I had the storyboard out and placed the actors where they needed to be. With the help of my friend Eva I would position the actors and she would look through the camera telling me left, right, forward, back, to get the perfect shot.
