 My Commercial 




My group and I have completed our music video! This was a long process and I have learned many new skills throughout filming and editing. I have learned how to implement different angles and what these angles portray to an audience. I have also learned how to edit clips together to create split screens, which is something I have never done before! I had a lot of fun filming with my group and enjoyed creating a music video with them. I have learned how to work with people you may not always agree with, and how to delegate work fairly. If I could give advice to my past self, I would remind myself to plan better so that I have an outline to lookout while filming. It would have been easier to fit. If my group and I had a set plan for how many scenes we would film each day and the estimated time it would take. Without a schedule there was some struggle with staying on task. But in the end we were able to complete our filming and learn to go with the flow. Overall, I had a wonderful time filming, and would love to work with my group again. I am proud of the commercial that we made, even though there may be some flaws. I did the best work that I could possibly do and in the end that is all that matters!

Editing Blog: Editing The Music Video

 Today Allison and I edited together the music video! This was the final step to our music video process and marked an end to all of the work we had done. We used the app Imovie to put all of the scenes together, we did this in class and used Allison’s phone. We had previously recorded all of the clips on Allison’s phone so this was the most convenient option. I began adding the scenes to the app to have an outline of our video. Allison helped me crop the clips so that they would line up with the music perfectly. It was challenging making all the clips match up with the music perfectly and I did have some frustrations along the way. For some scenes I had trouble matching the lip syncing, but after a few tries I was able to make it look flawless! Creating a split screen for the phone call scene seemed impossible, but with some research and the help of my group mates I was able to create a split screen! Allison gave me many suggestions while editing and I greatly appreciated her help...

Introducing My Group Mates!

 My group is very similar to the group I had for my previous music video, although there are some changes. We decided to add a new member to the group from a different class period, her name is Jade. My group now consists of me my good friend Allison, Darrow, and Jade. Allison and I have been friends since middle school and have worked together on many projects and assignments. On our last project Allison was very helpful and took on a lot of the responsibility she picked upon Darrow a few times and allowed us to film at her house. Without her we who knows what we would've done. Allison also helped me a lot when it came to filming, she gave me many ideas without forcing them upon me. We are able to work well together because we have a good relationship. Darrow is another friend that I have known since middle school. Lets Get Filming!

 Today we got lots of filming done! Yesterday was not as accomplished as we spent a lot of time trying to figure out the right place to film. But today we were able to all meet at one place at the same time ready to film. All of the actors quickly got dressed and I went to set up props again. Darrow's parents were not home this day so I had to set up the props by my lonesome without his Moms help. Luckily everything still looked perfect! Once everyone was dressed we had to continue with the scenes. I had the storyboard out and placed the actors where they needed to be. With the help of my friend Eva I would position the actors and she would look through the camera telling me left, right, forward, back, to get the perfect shot.
