Genre Decision

Our group has decided to do a action/romance genre. We have decided to combine both of these genres in order to get the best result. We chose action because it will be entertaining and will test out filming abilities. Action movies include many zooms, panning shots, and wide shots. We will have the chance to use these different types of shots to increase the action and suspense in our movie. This will be a new way of filming and it will be be difficult to hold the camera right and have good timing, but it will be a great achievement in the end.We have also included romance in our movie because we believe it will add to the storyline. We cannot fully cover action, with explosions, fire and gunshots, so it will be vital that we have some excitement from the romance. The romance drama will include many close up shots, these will be easy to film and will allow us to capture the actors emotions. Action is supposed to be exciting, and my group will be able to do this. We will film our cars going very fast and we will take notes from other action movies such as the fast and the furious. We will use dim lighting for the romance genre as seen in many other romance movies. We will include background music that will create suspense leading up to the main events. We will use costumes from both genres such as tuxes, and dresses, as well as button downs and jeans. We will also include props such as cool sunglasses, chocolate cigars, and bb guns. These props are seen throughout action movies in history and we will use them as well. We will also include props such as roses and jewelry commonly seen in romance genres. These props will be somewhat easy to acquire and are in our price range. Overall action and romance are the best genres for our skill set and we have the most interest them. Therefore we will be able to fully explore both genres to our best ability.
